Hi, my name is KM Jordan. I was born and raised in middle America. While watching my mother paint and draw around the age of twelve, I too, started to express my creativity through the visual arts and have spent most of my adult life working as an art director in graphic design and advertising.
My interest in writing began when I entered middle school. Some of my favorite books at the time were: Deenie, The Diary of Anne Frank, Seventeenth Summer, Night and War of the Worlds.
In addition to reading young adult coming-of-age fiction, during my youth I became seduced by science fiction literature but abandoned the interest because I felt at the time that those types of books were meant only for boys.
I was so wrong! As an adult, I allowed myself to revisit reading science fiction and started reading up on all the books I missed when I was younger such as: 1984 and Brave New World. Soon, I discovered speculative fiction, which introduced me to P.D. James and her masterpiece The Children of Men. After finishing this book and reading about her life as a person and a writer, I begin journaling some of my own ideas for a science fiction story.
Over the course of five to seven years I wrote notes, bits and pieces of dialogue and created a short film based on the characters that now appear in my first novel, which is an ebook called Transitory: The Prism.
It’s been an incredible journey for me and there are and have been so many people who have unknowingly inspired and taught me so much. There is truly a greater spirit at work, I believe, that guides and urges us all to share our talents and skills to connect with each other in such a manner that honors the grace in our humanity.
